Don't Diet More, Enjoy Exercise More!

Nowadays, a lot of people start exercising to lose weight which is absolutely fine. However, this blog aims to show you why finding a type of exercise that you actually enjoy is the biggest determiner of long-term mental and physical health, and why finding enjoyment in exercise will bring you more happiness than chasing a number on a scale ever could. Here's why:

If you enjoy what you do, you’re more likely to stick with it!

If you don’t like what you are doing, you are unlikely to remain consistent with it. On the other hand, if you enjoy the type of exercise you do, you are likely to want to do more of it. Simple!

So...if you enjoy spin, do more spin, if you like lifting weights, lift more weights, finding that passion will go along way to developing a consistent and healthy relationship with exercise!

(Not to mention the fact that if you do have a weight loss goal, finding a style of exercise that you want to do more of will undoubtedly aid your weight loss)

If you enjoy what you do, you’re likely to care less about what you look like!

Now, take this with a pinch of salt...what I mean is, trying to find a type of exercise or sport that you hope to improve at will shift the focus away from looking a certain way!

Your training and diet will become focused around being fit for purpose. And, once you start to see improvements in your exercise of choice, you’ll likely feel so much better and more confident in yourself, more than dieting alone ever could.

If you enjoy what you do, exercise becomes more about the mental health benefits as supposed to the physical ones!

People often start exercising for physical benefits, for example to lose weight, but if they find a style of exercise that they truly enjoy, exercise becomes more about the mental health benefits which is undoubtedly a good thing!

For example, whether you're into running, yoga or weights, nothing beats heading to the gym after a stressful day at work and sweating it all out! Am I right?
